Salads have been in vogue for a long time now and dates back to ancient Romans and Greeks. Sal in Latin means salt. Salad is derived from the word ‘sal’. Salad were essentially raw vegetables in oil,vinegar and salt. Salad comes from the word Vulgar Latin Herba Salata meaning salted herb.
